Accessibility
WhatTech aims to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. This is a statement of intent and of what the pages do, not a certificate from a formal audit. It was last updated on 6 November 2026.
What the pages do
- Written in HTML with one main heading, landmarks, and a skip link.
- Text can be resized. The layout is a single column on a phone and a comfortable measure on a desktop.
- Colour contrast is intended to meet AA for text, and information is not conveyed by colour alone.
- Controls have visible keyboard focus and names. Form fields have labels.
- Meaningful images ask for a text alternative when they are uploaded. Decorative decoration is CSS, not images of text.
- There is no time limit on reading a page. Sign-in sessions expire, and the sign-in page says so.
- The site does not move, flash, or play anything on its own.
Known limits
Alt text is only as good as the words typed when an image is uploaded. The form requires a description, but it cannot tell whether the description is a good one. There is no separate plain-text copy of a note beyond the page itself.
If something gets in the way
Write to contact@whattech.uk and say which page and what you were trying to do. We will try to fix the barrier. You can also ask the Equality Advisory and Support Service for advice.
